Recently did a report on one of Singapore's most significant artists, Chen Wen Hsi, who was part of the bourgeoning Nanyang art movement, which is renowned for combining Eastern and Western artistic styles.
One of his works was sold for US$1.7million at Sotheby's in 2013.
But did you know that there are 2 murals that he created which were nearly lost forever.
And just in case you're wondering who Chen Wen Hsi is, well, just look at the back of Singapore's $50 note, you will see his gibbon drawings there.
(Huge thanx to Ms Tay JooMee, former owner of 5 Kingsmead Road who graciously allowed CNA to film. Thanx to ArtCommune who organized the whole exhibition and last but not least, a big big thank you to Johnny Quek from Merlin Gallery for selflessly loaned his priced Chen Wen Hsi artworks)
